Capture Card Help?
As some of you may know, I've had a capture card for a little while and have been using it to record videos which I will then upload to YouTube. I've been looking to upgrade to HD for a while (before I start filming story videos for Outpost Echo). Only problem is, tech sites are created for the sole purpose of making computer experts pleasure themselves to random numbers and letter combinations, and are no help to people who aren't tech experts. Which is why I'm asking here, because I know there are at least like 7 people here who record. I'm hoping a couple of you are able to record in HD. Here's a bit more info:
I have an HD TV, so I should be fine there. I used to use the normal 360 connector thing to connect my 360 to the TV. You know, the thing with the three colored cables, red yellow and white. That thing connected the 360 to my HDTV in standard definition. My Playstation 3 came with an HDMI cable, and since I've had an HDTV, I've played my PS3 using the HDMI cable, presumably playing in HD. Thing is, I don't really play the PS3 all that often. So, one day I decided "Screw it. I'm going to see if I can connect the 360 to the TV in HD using that cable, so I don't have to spend whatever ridiculous amount of money to buy a HDMI cable for it.". It worked.
So essentially, I've got an Xbox 360, a Windows 7 computer that should be good with anything, and my 360 is connected to my HDTV in HD using an HDMI cable. How might I record my Xbox 360 in HD? I've been Googling the hell out of this, and all I've found out is that the Hauppenpauge PVR and Blackmagic Intensity are apparently the main two HD recorders. And apparently, you can't just do something simple, like you do with a normal capture card, where you connect your video fuckers to splitters, and have one side of the splitters go into the TV, and the other side go into the card. No, if you want to record in HD you have to do some relay shit that isn't explained very well.
Basically, can anyone tell me how to record in high definition, in the simplest possible terms? Imagine you're being forced to explain this to a caveman, one who will bash your head in if you don't properly explain. IE if you say things like "SSD Data Key" or "56 Hz/Mbps Upload Stream" and don't tell what it is, you're doing it wrong. Any help would be appreciated, since I cannot manage to figure this out.

Re: Capture Card Help?
Yes, it was very helpful. If one of the sites had just mentioned that it comes with all the necessary wires, I'd have been done with this days ago.
Thanks for the help.
EDIT: The cord that goes out of my Xbox and into my TV is an HDMI cable. Do the Hauppenpauges feature an HDMI port? I didn't see any on any of the pictures I looked at.
