What is your choice browser?

Got on the topic with someone today, and curiosity got the better of me, so i'd like to do a survey to break down (rough percentage) of who uses what browser.

If you prefer or use one browser over the other, why? What sets it apart from others? Is there a reason you chose it? Etc..

Debates are fine and welcomed.

Firefox. The scrolling in Google Chrome is awful and jerky. I couldn't stand the scrolling that one day I had to use it. Good bookmarks system though.

As far as system performance and memory usage Google Chrome is objectively better than Firefox.

Memory usage... okay.

But the latest versions of each are actually pretty much equal in performance. Unless your computer is outdated, you will notice near zero difference in the performance between chrome and firefox.

Just use firefox because one day I decided that I didn't like IE anymore.

Mine's pretty much the same reason. Also, Chrome denies me access to every website, apparently.

Magicman was saying something yesterday about how firefox gets 80 percent of its profits from google for using the google search bar. However ever since Google Chrome passed firefox in the browser wars, google is thinking of pulling its funding away from firefox. This would essentially destroy firefox.

Of course UX is going to be different than the world, but here is the most up-to-date breakdown I can find. It's an interesting perspective (this is as of Nov 2011):

If it does some of us don't need the extra protection due to we have antivirus programs.

Don't forget scrolling. That might sound like a joke, but I'm serious. I scroll frequently, and though not often for long, it does add up, and that's why I can't stand Chrome. Every time I have to scroll, I have to deal with that annoying jerky scrolling. I'd have no problem with it if they would just add smooth scrolling.

To be honest though, all this browser shit has always seemed completely pointless to me. The only reason I use Firefox over IE is because every site bitched at me about how my "browser is out of date", and some started not working so well, so I downloaded Firefox. It should be noted that I hated Firefox at the time, just because it seemed pointless for me to have had to download it, but it's grown on me.

I would need some actual motivation to switch to Chrome aside from "It's the latest thing". I've never noticed any difference between Chrome and Firefox, especially not in how long it takes to load sites or videos. It takes each about less than a second to load any site or video. Even if Chrome takes .005 less than a second to load stuff than Firefox, those won't actually ever add up to anything worth adding up, at least not in ten thousand of my lifetimes.

Basically, I don't want to have to change how I use bookmarks and refreshing for no benefit.
