Cold War with China?

Is anyone else a teeny tiny bit worried about this? Our economy is kinda falling apart, there's an online piracy act trying to destroy our internet, and now China is gonna be in a shouting contest with us, probably putting us into more debt....

No way is this accurate at all; not buying it until a reliable source states it.

(and for the record: the economy is slowly recovering, the online piracy act has nothing to do with Obama - that is Congress. You can't blame Obama for anything you stated, and i'm guessing your a conservative though, so it makes sense why you think what you do)


Also: We literally can't go to war with China; they own us. If China calls in it's debt (or forecloses on us), we're screwed. Sure China's economy will take a hit (since they can't sell garbage to us no more), but we would be affected 10x more.

Related issues, all of which somewhat opinionated. This stuff happened, it's just that the article Stuntman posted was really over the top.

Good God, talk about conservative propaganda. I was reading that going "Uh...uh...uh...what?" but reading it further gave me the impression that the author is throwing facts out of proportion to make it seem like a second Cold War. While I do think something like this is definitely possible, right now I think the only thing possible is the stepping stones to that conflict. Also, nobody "declares a Cold War", that's just stupid. So again, the author is somewhat autistic.

China simply thinks that stationing US Marines permanently in Australia is "Cold War thinking", but when it comes to China, they're not a friend and they're not an enemy. Yet. Other nations in the area aren't taking kindly to China's growing presence, so I guess that's where we come in. The US is strengthening their ties with Japan, The Philippines, and even Vietnam. So I agree with Meatshield's article, it looks like a containment policy similar to the 50s and 60s.

Not to mention India is angry with China, and if India is putting 100,000 troops on the border, that's serious moves on the chessboard.

The 21st century being really no different than any other, it's time to fight again. I wonder if I'll get to ride my Abrams tank into Shanghai, that would really be something, now wouldn't it?
