Mass Effect 3 Co-op Announced.

When Mass Effect 3 ships for the Xbox 360 on March 9, 2012, you'll be able to more with your friends than argue about who has created the coolest Commander Shephard. Developer BioWare has added a full-on four-player co-op multiplayer mode.

Featuring four-player cooperative gameplay, multiplayer in Mass Effect 3 puts players in the role of a team of elite Special Forces soldiers sent to protect resources and assets that can help the war effort against the Reapers. Players will have the option of playing as one of six classes and from six different races: Human, Krogan, Asari, Drell, Salarian and Turian. Hudson says the multiplayer mode will offer amazing combat and deep customization, and it will link back to the single-player mode, helping Shephard rally forces to eliminate the Reaper threat.

Single-player purists need not fear: While multiplayer promises to be a blast for folks who enjoy playing with friends, playing the co-op missions is just one way to prepare for the final battle against the Reapers, and BioWare says it will be completely optional.

I have sunk more than 300 hours into me1 and 2. I have 6 saves imported from me1, all level 60. I have a new 360 with kinect and a pair of X41s only for me3.

I have my preorder receipt.

I am ready.

Nice setup.

Always excited for ME3. Co-Op got me scared, but I'm glad that it is a completely different story, and that you can play as the other races. Also nice to know a different team worked on it.

Wait, what?
Just because the trailer is called 'Special Forces" doesn't mean that it's modeled after COD's Spec Ops. It's already been confirmed that ME3's Co-op will have it's own story line with links to the single player campaign. So unlike COD, the missions won't be butt-fuck random and have some 2nd class survival mode to compliment it.

Bioware has said that they want Call of Duty's audience.
I like ME, and I desperately wish the third game will be as good as the first one. It just doesn't seem to look that way, given the leaked gameplay I've seen and Post-DA2 Bioware.

Just be sure to hold off on judging the state of the game and company until it's actually out. Who knows, it might pleasantly surprise you. Hopefully.
