Good. Although idk how much this would effect me cuz i'm 14, i'm still glad to know that the U.S won't default.

No they didn't... at least as of 1:00pm EST today (August 1st) when the article was posted. Direct quote:

Sry for the double post, but the above is outdated (however, the response isn't. the House hasn't passed the bill yet as of the post I made on the last page).

ONLY just a few hours ago, the bill to raise the debt ceiling passed the House.

However, it still has to go to the Senate for approval, and then the President.

I made that post after they were reporting on CSPAN that it passed the house. So...it wasn't outdated. It just hadn't gotten to major news stations yet.
