Footage Guidelines

Post  Super Mega King on 29th March 2011, 9:45 pm

We want to encourage you to create as many videos as you want (and be duly rewarded), but we also want to create a minimum level of quality that we expect if we are to post it on YouTube.

The video...
-Must not include the lobby/setup time. No one wants to see that.
-Must not include dialogue that is too inappropriate or unprofessional (ie: do we want people basing our community off this dialogue?).
-Camerman must be a survivor
-Must end when the survivor dies or is otherwise out of the game.
-Must contain the survivor doing something worthwhile (even if it's just killing zombies; no videos of a guy driving around doing nothing).
-Must be at least one minute long

Please use the official UX intro (created by the talent Flasktoss55: http://db.tt/hUZM7xK

Are they any comments or concerns?

What should i do about when we put up "Zombie team" games and everyone is really loud? Not record everyone elses voices and put music and/or a commentary? Cause i know trying to record everyones voices in game has backfired on me a few nights.

Finally, should we have to make an Undead-xbox intro? We could all just use the same one.

Errr damnt I had into screens that I had posted in the UX youtube channel thread. But I remember we had an issue where pruning was turned on and so that thread got deleted. I'll try to come up with new ones, but until then don't worry about it.

My suggestion would be to record the voices and then, in editing, find the good sections. Remember, editing is magic.

Also, I so want to make a UX intro now.

As Flask said: Editing is magic. Record good bits, but we aren't going to publish bits where members are acting like jackasses over the microphone.

Also, one thing I forgot to mention: For the most part, record only your bit as a survivor. It's really more interesting to see survivors cooperating to survive rather than a zombie running at the humans over and over.

That is better, BUT a even better thing is we have 3-5 members going to the event who have a capture card so we can see from all their views of the game.

Exceptions can be made of course, but I mainly want to encourage survivor footage.

Alright, I made an intro for anyone and everyone to use for their UX videos. It's nice and big so that you guys can size it down without suffering in quality. DeadApe has given me the go-ahead to post it here, so here it is: UX INTRO

Just drop it in front of your videos in the editing stage and prosper accordingly! Damen, if you see this before I talk to you, can you put this in the first post for easy access? Thanks man.

Thanks be to you. I used Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere, I generally like Adobe products.

Unfortunately, Adobe stuff isn't free. I don't really know of a good free alternative to After Effects, but both Windows and Mac computers come with editing software. You have to work a little harder to get good results, but I used WMM for quite a while and it's better than it seems on the surface (kinda).
