MW3 November
A third game in the Modern Warfare series is coming this year, according to a new report from the Los Angeles Times.
Citing unnamed sources, the LA Times says Activision has recruited Sledgehammer Games, the studio currently working on another unannounced Call of Duty title, and Raven Software (Singularity) to help finish development of Modern Warfare 3 for release this November.
The report states both Sledgehammer and Infinity Ward are equally completing the single-player portion of the game, while Raven is working on its online multiplayer features.
Due to the developer collaboration, sources said the Call of Duty spin-off project in development at Sledgehammer, rumored to be set in the future, has now been put on hold.
Since Infinity Ward executives Jason West and Vince Zampella were fired from the studio in March, more than 35 employees have left the studio. Activision said recently it has received over 5,000 applicants to fill the vacancies.
The publisher has not publicly announced what Call of Duty title would be released this year, but did confirm a new game would be arriving in the back half of 2011.
When asked about the report, an Activision representative said, "There's been much speculation recently. We look forward to releasing details for the next Call of Duty in the near future."

What makes you say that? The article only notes that the Sledgehammer spin-off game is to be set in the future, not MW3.

Sorry , i didn't really read it just copy and pasted it. But i assumed it would be in the future if it is a sequel to MW2 which was in the future.

With this logic MW1 isn't "modern" either because it would already be a few years in the past.
Modern isn't that much of an exact term. 70's is still pretty modern when it comes to military equipment, and if something is set a couple years in the future it's still pretty modern unless there's something like stealth camouflage other sci-fi crap involved...

Wow.
Well I very happy with Black Ops right now. I'm also very skeptical about a game being worked on by 3 different developers.

I hope this isn't news to anyone. Activision has stated before that a new Call of Duty game will come out every year.

Well i am just getting concerned because of the way MW2 turned to be with hacking and stuff but 3 developers is pretty good.

And how exactly is that good in any way? They're just doing it to push the game out faster. They're going to glue together the work of 3 studios who don't even communicate properly while making the game because of lack of time. That's just never going to work...

Re: MW3 November
IS not going to happen. As of March(or is it May) 23rd, Activision will no longer hold the rights to Modern Warfare, as Vince and Jason will most definately win, since Activision is currently trying to pull some shady business, by trying to blame it all on how EA is trying to undermine the CoD name.

Sir Manguydude- Thats right, limp away!
