OK, I was supposed to play CoD4 zombies for the first time in like... a year or something. But on friday somewhere during the evening my internet goes down and stayed like that for the whole night. So on saturday I give them a call, and the only thing I get is a recording saying the offices are closed from friday 6pm to monday noon. So I just got home (quarter past noon), and I was going to give them a call about it but when I picked up the phone from the table, I noticed the "cable" light was lit up on the modem!

So I missed another chance to play zombies again. And I even had my cap card all set up before the internet went out...

Are you going to be able to stay up ungodly late this Saturday Cod 4 Zombies is on for sure then.

a cap card is a capture card used to record gameplay and such. the light on the modem meant that he had internet

i agree fully and you can just use youtube and look up capture cards and they come in all different prices

Yeah sure, I'm on a 1 month break right now so even the sunday wouldn't have been a problem even if it was 5am... Though I believe it would have been around 10pm for me.

Though the capcard is giving me some shit now, apparently the audio chip isn't all-that-compatible with Windows 7 so I'll have to try and make a magic patch by myself OR install XP alongside Win7 to be able to record sound too... The good news (for me) is that the new laptop has enough power to record and display the image on my screen without any delay so I don't need a seperate TV anymore to play while recording... And this should also increase the video quality a little because it wont have to go through several splitters anymore.

OK, a small update. I noticed that Windows recognizes and installs the audio chip for the capcard automatically if I haven't installed the drivers, whereas with the drivers it won't work. So I installed the drivers, deleted the audio chip from device manager and then unplugged and plugged it back in. Video drivers still working, and Microsofts own drivers for the audio chip- hooray! But that didn't keep me happy for long... The audio quality is absolutely shit you see.

Right now I'm compiling a Windows XP live CD, but I have no idea how I will get the carcard drivers working with a live CD so I'm in for some serious experimenting here...
