UX Forza 3 Race - Event #1 (9/5/10) - [completed]
This will be Event #1. I need minimum 5-8 people to attend, otherwise it will be canceled due to a lack of players.
The Event will be on: Sunday, 8:00pm EST.
Specific in-game rules will be explained in lobby. For an idea of what to expect, see the topic under rules and regulations. Events generally consist of 3-5 races each (usually 3) and have a winner for each one. The winners (in addition to in-game credits) will receive a new car (more on this below). Restrictions in each race can be limited by year, make, model, country of origin, region of origin, class, body-style, production/track, horsepower, or specific Performance Index (PI). After each race, the results will be posted below for all races.
Aside from in-game credits, pride, etc.., there is no personal reward for 2nd place, and the cars rewarded are stock; however, they get more expensive over time. There will be one car available for each race (so 3 total races means 3 cars to choose from). The cars will all generally be the same class. If you win more than one race, you can select more than 1 car (ex. win 2 races, select 2 cars). Generally it is first come first serve for each car. THERE IS NO RESERVING CARS. Cars can only be claimed after the event is complete, and the results updated.
Restrictions for each event will be announced below. Most events are limited to STOCK vehicles only; however, a few races will allow upgrades (this is to take out any advantage due to good tuning). The tracks and corresponding lap numbers are also listed.
The car restrictions are listed in order of occurrence (so we use the top of the list first), but the tracks are NOT. So don't go tuning your car for a certain track, because tracks are done in random order from the list.
***If you don't own a certain stock vehicle, don't worry, ALL stock vehicles are provided in game for multiplayer races.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Restrictions for this event are as follows:
1. British Battle - it's only British production cars allowed in this battle royale (stock only)
2. French Face-off - only French production cars are allowed in this race (stock only)
3. Swedish Showdown - production cars from Sweden are the pick this time (stock only)
Tracks are as follows:
- Mazda Laguna Seca / 5 laps
- Mugello Full Circuit / 4 laps
- Maple Valley Full Circuit / 5 laps
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If the next person in line hasn't claimed their prize within 24 hours of the race, it's first come first serve. To claim (only AFTER the event has been complete AND updated) a car, just post below. No 2 cars will be from the same region.

0-60 in under 3.2 seconds, nearly a 200 mph top speed... and 78 mpg? You are looking at Porsche's latest legend.

Question.
If the Fiesta and Focus (Which are both German engineer) are primarily sold in the UK and consider an import, can it be used in British Battle?

I give a shit none
Forza 3's events don't have regulations like that so they shouldn't be like that here

Just b/c a car is heavily sold in a country, doesn't not mean that is it's country of origin. Certain Volkswagon models are built primarily for sale in America, but they're still German. What determines a cars nationality is the country: it's built in, designed in, tested in, and created by (and a few other things). The Fiesta and Focus are American Fords.
However, Forza 3 did get a few of the car nationalities wrong. For example, Lexus and Acura are Japanese (Forza 3 says from US). The Bugatti Veyron is German (game says French). Those are the main ones, but generally, (99% of time) the game is correct in car nationality classification.

Go talk to ironman about this. He is my encyclopedia on other cars manufactures.
He would agree with me very greatly.

That's not too valid; ironman isn't the car guru; he doesn't know everything, and is wrong in a few areas. For example, he goes by the classification that if a car company is owned by another, that company takes on it's nationality. It's completely false. So if Toyota one day decides to buy out Ferrari (for example, not that it would happen), then according to ironman, Ferrari would magically become Japanese overnight. Also by this theory, Lamborghini is German.. it's not, it's Italian. Mercedes owns Mclaren; Mclaren is still British.
Not going to get into the details, or get into a debate about it, but that is how it is. Forza 3 may have made a few mistakes here and there, but are generally very accurate. Their car classifications are for the most part correct.
Besides.... why do you care? Were you really going to use a Ford Fiesta in one of the races?

Well I thought there is going to be a restriction on how high of a PI level the cars will be in the first event.
ALSO FIESTA FOR THE MOTHER FUCKING WIN!
Further more he said that Fiesta, Focus, Escort, and other are originally NOT from America thus making then British or where ever they are from.
If Toyota were to buy Ferrari, Ferrari will still be Italian.

BUMP.
Race is in about 2 hours from this posts. I'm hoping for a good turn out.
I would like to say though, plan out what cars you want to use for each race ahead of time, so we aren't deciding in the lobby. I also don't want to see everyone pick the same vehicle. If this occurs, i'll simply just restrict that vehicle from the race, and everyone would have to choose again (i'm actually planning on having this happen; I realize there are some "unfair" advantaged car among others, especially with the restriction on the cars country of origin, instead of performance). This way, cars are generally the same.
Get ready everyone.

Topic updated.
The winners can now claim their cars. Remember, the winner of the 3rd race has 1st dibs, and then in the reverse order.
If the 3rd race winner doesn't claim within the next 24 hours, it's first come first serve.
To claim, simply post below (in order) the car you desire from the list. Choose wisely
*(I will update who recieved which car after all are claimed)
