Re: The Walking Dead (General Thread)
Honestly I'm treating the show and the comic as two different stories at this point.
I kind of like both stories equally at this point. The only thing I honestly hated about the show was the CDC episode.

I'm glad I never read the comic yet, seeing as how many people seem to have a negative reaction to the show because of it. I personally loved every episode to-date, and it is very interesting.
Anyways, I think this episode has revealed something very important:

People really should have stopped the comparisons when Daryl was introduced, he's not even in the comics...

That episode was boring.
That Hershel guy really needed to get woken up though.
- Spoiler:
- I don't blame Shane for shooting every damn zombie in that barn, I would've done the same thing. Sophia being dead was kind of expected after being gone in a hostile environment for so long.

- Spoiler:
- I dont think Shane should have killed the zombies because Hershel was going to let them stay if they followed his rules but Shane messed that all up and Hershel is going to end up kicking them out.

- Spoiler:
- I don't agree with Shane all of the time, but he is realistic. Then again, it's easier for him because he has no family with him. Still would've shot every damn one of them, especially the fact more are being brought in. Courtesy only goes so far, this was threatening the survivors. People could've died if something had gone amiss.

Re: The Walking Dead (General Thread)
This was a very good and...emotional (at least for me) episode.
- Spoiler:
- Honestly, when Shane was having his moment, I could feel Hershel's pain. I almost wanted to cry, to be honest. It made me think that Shane is a major dick. Not to mention he's a bit of a man-whore and he contemplated killing his best friend. Then killed Otis, which is kinda understandable due to Otis being a considerable treat for the zombies, and I wasn't that attached to him anyway. However, breaking into the barn and killing every single (former) family member in there was kind of harsh. I had a HUGE mess up of feelings when Sophia came out of the barn, however. It was still sad, but at the same time it was also a huge "fuck you" to the other survivors, with a bit of hypocrisy mixed in there because nobody raised their gun to shoot her. They finally felt what Hershel was feeling with all of his undead family in that barn. I'm glad it was Rick who shot Sophia because he was helping Hershel in the first place, and it showed that Rick was the emotionally strongest member out of all of them.

Re: The Walking Dead (General Thread)
- Spoiler:
- When it comes to hypocrisy, I don't think it was so much, just as everyone was extremely surprised to see the girl they've been chasing shadows for days now is a walker. It hit everyone. I couldn't help but agree with Shane though with his whole "They're NOT people! They're DEAD! That's what they do, they kill. They killed Amy! And they killed Otis! And they'll kill every single one of us."
He's a great anti-hero. He so desperately wants Rick to be out of the picture, because he wants to have his family. He's extremely jealous of his family, so much so that he treats Carl like his own son and he'd gladly support Laurie. It's evidenced in the first two episodes of the first season when Rick isn't at the survivor camp. Shane's extremely happy at the fact he now has a family to live for, even though he deeply regrets not being able to save his friend.
Sophia being dead, I really expected it. She'd been gone for so long, it was unrealistic to assume she wasn't. And if Otis put her in there, she was dead not long after she went missing. So I wasn't too upset about that. Hershel really misconceives the walkers. They're not sick people, they're not even people, they can't be cured, they're dangerous, and they need to die. I was completely fine with Shane opening up the barn and subsequently killing every single one of them, because they're a threat to the farm if something goes wrong.
