Ant-Man Film

Post  DeadApe on 30th June 2010, 4:47 pm

So Edgar Wright (Shaun of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim) is doing the Ant-Man movie. Apparently he has the first draft done already and Marvel is liking it. Edgar says that he is taking a humorous approach to the superhero origin movie, and that it should be different than what we have seen so far with superhero movies. Expect humor on the level of the Iron Man movies.

Edgar is going to start the second draft after Scott Pilgrim is released. I think the movie is scheduled for a 2012-2013 release, sometime after the Avengers movie.

Hmmm, sounds interesting, but I can't really make an actual decision until I see a trailer.

I wonder if they plan to address the other hero personas Pym has adopted during the course of his psychosis (e.g., Giant-Man, Goliath, Yellow Jacket...).

And as of a few years ago, the second Ant-Man (Scott Lang) is really, really dead. But he was pretty cool, I suppose.

The article I was reading said that they planned to show Hank Pym becoming Ant-Man in the 60's, and then flash-forward to Scott Lang as Ant-Man in the 80's. Kind of an interesting idea if they can write a good script.

I think Ant Man is gonna be Scott Lang not Pym, at least that's what I've heard.

It had better not just be Scott Lang.
