.........*Starts Sobbing* Thats what happens when your coach gets caught picking his nose and eating his boogers. the only reason they lost was because he was embarassed and couldnt think of anything to help his boys.

Re: FIFA World Cup is ON!!
I've gotten over it. Only took me 6 hours lol.
But seriously, on a positive note, Germany did pretty good. Noone (before the first game) expected them to get this far, mainly because of the absence of captain Ballack, and the fact that the majority of the team is new.
Replacement years are always tough. Almost all of the German team was replaced between now and the last world cup, including their goalie (Lehmann to Neuer). They were actually the 2nd youngest team going into the cup, with an average team age of only 24 years; that's impressive.
What gives me hope is that if they made it all the way this far, and they're fresh, so imagine after 4 more years of training. Other nations, such as Spain, are going to have to replace their teams eventually due to aging. Their best game I believe was the Germany vs. Argentina; rewatching that one makes me proud. Their passing was spot on, and their plays were perfect. In fact, I believe if they played that way every world cup game, they would easily win; the Spain game they just didn't play as good as before. One thing I admire though was that their defense is solid. It was not like it was a blowout either like Argentina, the final score was only 0 - 1.
Aside from all this, Germany did do great in many aspects in this World Cup. They were the top goal scoring team, and one of the only teams ever to score at least 4 goals in 3 different world cup matches (against Australia, England, Argentina). On top of that, they hold the world cup record of most goals scored with the 2002 match against Saudi Arabia (8 - 0). Just give them another four years, and they'll be back and more powerful than ever. They also are one of the only teams that can say they "always make it to the semi-finals". Aside from I think one year (where they made it to the Quarters, NEVER getting eliminated before that), Germany has never failed to make it to the semi-finals in all of World Cup History. Italy can't say that, Spain can't say that, France can't say that, and even Brazil can't say that. They're always in the top 4, and recently, #2 and #3.
So yeah, Germany may have lost, but overall i'd say they played better than any other team out there.
EDIT: Germany just won the 3rd place game (so they got 3rd place, again), in an exciting match. I personally think it was the most action packed football (soccer) game yet. Final score was 3 - 2 Germany. I couldn't help but laugh at the Uruguay player being booed (based on that cheap win over ghana).
Well, finals tomorrow: Netherlands vs. Spain. My money's on Spain.

Re: FIFA World Cup is ON!!
SPAIN WINS THE WORLD CUP 2010!!!
...and thank god too. I don't know if anyone else noticed, but the Netherlands played EXTREMELY dirty out there, resulting in I think 12 yellow cards, including 1 red (should have been more reds), which was the most in any world cup final in history (and they were all on the Netherlands team).
So, now that Spain are the champions of 2010, many countries are already looking toward the next world cup in Brazil, 2014.
Here are the Results of the Cup:
1st: Spain
2nd: Netherlands
3rd: Germany
4th: Uruguay
5th and up, well... everyone else (they don't rank before the semis)
Hope everyone enjoyed the last game. With all that, I have only one thing to say... CURSE YOU OCTAPUS!!! ... that is all.
Anyone else who wants to comment about the whole history of the cup this past month, or just the final game in general, feel free to post below. It has been surprising to say the least.

Re: FIFA World Cup is ON!!
Sorry I couldn't find a better video, but here is that Karate kick that yeilded "only" a yellow card.
EDIT: Oh, and for those who didn't know, a German player got the golden boot (which is basically the award for the best player in the cup), so Germany still #1 in my books!
