FIFA World Cup is ON!!

I know certain people don't really care (not to stereotype, but especially if you live in the US), but the every 4 year event has started today. This is the biggest sporting event in the world!!

The World Cup lasts June 11th to July 11th.

So, with day 1 coming to a close, I figured i'd start this topic to see who everyone's cheering for. Who do you want to win? Who do you think will actually win? Post below!

Another reason i'm posting this is that you probably won't see me online xbox as much as usual (trying to watch most of the games). I'm a huge Football fan if you get to know me (aka "soccer" as it is wrongfully called in the US). So....

Team I want to win: Germany

Team I think is actually going to win: After seeing their 1st game, Germany!!!!!!!!

team i hope is going to win: North Korea

team i ACTUALLY hope is going to win: Switzerland

Well Finland never wins anything when it comes to Football, so I don't give a flying fuck. Hockey all the way.

I agree, Germany shows alot of potential and they have my favorite play of all time Arne Friedrich. He could win the World Cup himself, he's got to be one of the greatest defenders in history. Germany is really underestimated they have some of the greatest defensive players today like Manuel Neuer, Per Mertesacker, ect.

Well not every country got their team there, so you'd have to be an idiot to wish victory to a team that's not even playing... Which reminded me of a hilarious thing I saw on the newspaper. It was on an article about "psychics and fortune tellers". They were asked how Finland was gonna do on the World Cup of Football. One said they're gonna win, one said they won't win but will be on the Top 10 and one said "they've trained hard, but they wont win".

At the bottom of the article there was a notation: "Finland isn't even playing in the World Cup."

USA vs. England ended a few hours ago... final score 1-1... awwww

That last goal by the US made me LOL, stinks to be England's keeper.

That's what I call a raping. This also confirms my belief that even though Ballack is out, Germany is still going to win it. This has been the most dominating game yet!!
