Scariest moment in a video game?

Yesterday in party chat we touched on a number of topics, including scary videogames, and their decline. But I am here to ask you for your scariest moment you've had in a video game. It does not have to be from a scary video game either, for instance:

When I first played Oblivion and Lucien from the Dark Brotherhood wakes you up in your sleep suddenly. Your watching the time ticker count down the number of hours your picked and then all of a sudden it stops and someone is stareing you in the face I almost shit a brick. From then on I was scared to go to sleep in that game because there are always some crazy strangers who waltz in your house and wake you up to ask for your help.

You can also talk about how crappy horror games have been lately and your best memories of the good ones.

Like I said, I don't think I've ever been scared playing a video game.

This might be because I haven't played any or because I don't find them all that scary. Would love some suggestions though.

i think it was when i was 8 when i rented Area-51. there were quite a few scary moments in that game, but the scariest was (at least when i was 8 ) when a mutant jumped at me from behind a door, i literally fell outta my chair, lol

i cant play bio shock cause i got scared at the part when you go into the dental or hospital ward and you listen to a audio tape only to find the creepiest looking fucker jumps at you with a doctors mask on

i usually dont go for the scary movies or games but it kind pisses me off when im forced to watch or play one and its not scary at all

personally a scary game should literally force you to either stay in the light or away from the dark for the fears of being attacked and the fear of not being able to fight back

I used to be extremely tolerant to scary games, movies, videos. From since I could remember, I breezed through games Fatal Frame and Doom 3, laughed at some of the greatest horror films, and went through some of the scariest haunted houses alone. But, now, if I even hear a song like M1A1, I break into a sweat and can't sleep with out the help of medication. All because of /x/. Fucking Suicide Mouse... I don't know why but, it scared the shit out of me. I had read smile.jpg and other famous copypastas and watched the grifter but, they hardly even phased me.
With this said, the scariest video game moment before the fucking mouse, would have to be 95% of Doom 3 or Condemn's mannequins. Doom 3 taught me, just because you traveled an area once, doesn't mean you can expect what is going to come next. Then those stupid mannequins taught me to bash every single life size doll. Both those got be a little jumpy at times, now, I don't even have the balls to put the CD in my 360.

I cannot stand to play a scary game or watch a horror movie. Every time that i am forced to go to a horror movie, i always put my head between my lap and plug my ears

lol, i can usually watch scary movies, the one i did not get through was the amityville horror (the new one) i was around 10 or 11 when i watched it, i might be able to now, but idk if i should...

im not watching all of freddy v jason again either, the part that makes me nearly shit myself everytime i see it is the scene where it shows the people in a coma in a hospital, they sit up from their beds, start singing a song, and idk what about it, but it scares the shit out of me

Anyways, if you want a horror game where you need to hide because you can't always fight, try Clocktower or Penumbra games.

Im like you slacker, movies dont scare me and the "scary" games never did it for me. However, this all changed when I got Fatal Frame a couple of weeks ago. I love that fuckin game. Play at night when its dark and by yourself.
Its not like youll be scared to sleep at night but its freaky at the moment.
Like the broken neck bitch scared the shit outta me when she said hello when i randomly put my camera up.

Yea waffle I remember that shit in condemned. Those manequinns scared the living shit out of me.
