Halo: Reach Thread

Let me start off with my oppinion of the Halo franchise so I dont get bombarded with replies of "who carezz hAlo sux!" The xbox would have a considerably harder time getting off the ground without Halo. For me and many others who bought an xbox solely for Halo, it was a big deal. While the game might have lessened in the singleplayer department as more games were released, it expanded its multiplayer game to the point where its the most customizeable and replayable games out there. Most of us here on this website dont play the game, and even hate it. Im not a fan myself anymore, but if you dont respect it, your an unintelligent gamer.

Now as far as ODST stuff, ODST was an amazing game. The singleplayer was fun, and firefight was awsome. It had some major flaws though, there is no matchmaking for firefight, and nobody plays it anymore so your shit out of luck if you do. Also the singleplayer is short and the "your an ODST, NOT MASTERCHEIF so watchout!" garbage that Bungie tried to tell us is false.

Anyway. Halo Reach has the potential to be a great game. This is what we know about reach so far.

1. Its based on the book "Fall of Reach," look it up because I'm not summarizing it.

2. There will be spartans, alot of them, but none master cheif.

3. It takes place right before Halo 1.

4. This statement from some guy who played it
"So what exactly did we play? Something you would expect, something you should expect, and something so new it came with instructions. And yes, David Allen, I did make sure to pop into the [redacted] to check out the new [redacted]. And why yes, it was sweet."

Something so new it needed instructions? Could this be NATAL? Could it be an mmo? Who knows, but it's interesting.

5. Here are the leaked screenshots











The second screeshot looks like there could be a squad mechanic (bottom left corner around the health and radar.) In the trailer one of the characters says "I read your file, glad to have your skillset, but you can get all that lone wolf stuff." This could be a reference to squad based gameplay. We already know we are fighting alongside an army.

More Halo: Reach Info

The first scene shows your character holding his helmet and then putting it on. I could definitely see a prompt coming on, telling me to place my helmet on using NATAL.

The technology is not as advanced as it is in Halo 3. So we see that the spartans have "health again" like in ODST and Halo1. Also the voice translators have not been created yet, so the convenant will speak in their own language and that is how we will here it. So they wont sound like a mix between the Governator and Barney.

Anybody else have any theories?

Honestly, I just can't wait for it to come out, I've been quietly wishing for Bungie to rekindle my old love for Halo, but it's taken till now to get there.

I agree with the squad based mechanic theory, and I believe that we can expect another four-six player co-op in the future.

I'm definetly getting this game when I get my own xbox and having to wait for my cousins to get it, So Since I like Halo 3, I'll probaly like this one, I hope they have those custom games and that thing that they use to make stuff. I like halo so I'll probaly love this...
