Dead City (part 1)

A sunny Friday in San Francisco. Two days before Christmas. I kiss my wife goodbye as I walk out the door. Once I get to my office building, I’m greeted by a big stack of papers on my desk. Right when I sit down I heard a loud shriek that broke my frightened me Soon after I heard udder chaos in the streets bellow my office building. I looked out the window only to see running and screaming citizens. My only instinct was to turn on the built in radio on my phone and listen to the report.. It was to loud in the office building and I only managed to hear the reporter say “destroy the brain”.

I rushed to the elevator but it was packed already. Taking the stairs was my only way down now. I was on the top floor on a 35 story building. Not to long later I made it to the first floor. As I was walking away a loud shriek rang in my ear. I turned around and saw a disfigured man biting a young woman’s leg. “Help me!” she said. I just ignored her and walked away acting as if this never happened.

The main lobby was like a war. It was crowded by the infected against the immune. Finding a new way out of this building was vital. Maybe the lobby’s bathroom had a window. I had to take this chance. Once I got to the bathroom I had just enough space to fit through the window onto the street.

A little girl was in the middle of the road. “Hey!” I called out to her. Soon enough a first grader was trying to kill me! Fortunately her legs weren’t long enough to catch up to me. Down the road there was an alley with teenagers that had melee weapons. I needed to stay with them in order to survive

Down the alley we saw a parking lot with cars and a lot of zombies also. We needed a distraction. After arguing a little bit a young boy stepped up to the challenge and got all the zombies to follow him. I took the sports car and I thought the teens were going to hop in but that’s not what they were looking for. They wanted the Jeep but little did they know there were two zombies inside. Watching helplessly they were torn to shreds.

Getting to my block was the easy part but getting to my house was hard. Hordes of zombies were every were. My only choice was to climb through the backyards of each house until I got to mine.

Once I was there I saw a note on the refrigerator. “If your reading this, I miss you.” I knew exactly what happened. A loud thud hit the front door. There was also a lot of groans. I knew exactly what those diseased freaks want. My flesh. “I didn’t go this far just to die. And if I do die I’m not going down without a fight. Good bye America. It was a good run.”

For a first time post in this section I would say it was pretty good, However it felt rushed, maybe slow down the pace a little and describe things more.

Dude, you stole this exact story from a zombie text-based flash game. I can't seem to remember the name or find it though. It was a choose your own adventure game that I played a few months ago.

So why did you essentially reward and past their story here and call it yours?

Can anyone back me up on this?
