Actually, yeah, I think my HP came with a dock up top by default. I had already been using RocketDock since XP, so I just stuck with it (I also assumed that RD would have better customization than the default HP dock).

Here's an update to my desktop. I recently added my shortcuts to my application dock. And I downloaded that rainlendar design, that Flask has.

Btw, Erik you shouldn't put your pics in a spoiler. It makes the image enormous. =/

What do you mean? It is pretty much the exact same size as yours to me. Make sure you don't have the image enlarged.

Re: Desktop topic
Thought I'd bump this topic since I've finally gotten around to downloading Rocketdock (Thanks, Flask.) & Rainmeter.
And I'd like to see what's going on with your guys' desktops.

Re: Desktop topic
After seeing so many nice desktops, I decided I just had to disgrace all of you with my much more elegant and beautiful desktop. Behold!

Truly, it's elegance and orderliness is unmatched. Even my strategy of posting it here, just lazily selecting it with the snipping tool, is superior.
Typically, my desktop won't have quite as much junk sitting on it. As it stands, I've got at least two or three columns of various "work" stuff that I've been meaning to do (after that, all that stuff will be put into the appropriate folder). With any luck, I'll be able to cut out about three columns of stuff. I really do use the default "Friend" desktop. It reminds me of my first pet dog. I guess aside from that, I always feel nostalgia using the simple default things. I haven't changed it from "Friend" since I started using it, but even before that I felt nostalgia just from remembering when I had my first computer, and my time setting up all the stuff on it (organizing the icons in whatever way I please, choosing from the desktops, choosing the themes. For some reason, even now while consciously thinking about stuff like my taskbar and desktop and tons of folders, I have absolutely no desire to change it into something new. I don't feel the need for something fresh at all. I'm perfectly happy having that standard blue bar that I've had for years. I still like it all. I'm not only satisfied, but I guess also comfortable with the old familiar setup.
Anyway, that's my desktop. If you look closely at some of the icons, you might see some familiar stuff.

Re: Desktop topic
I just cleaned it up a few days ago. I have no use for my desktop, since I launch every program by hitting the windows key and typing it there instead of using shortcuts. so I just use it as a place where to dump all the temp files I have. The only stuff that remained on the desktop is software that came in an archive instead of an installer. Couldn't be arsed with moving them anywhere.
